THE NEW YORKER MAGAZINE COVER
For my Illustration class we were tasked to create a magazine cover design for The New Yorker. The topic we had build on was “Summer Reading”, but aside from that we had extensive creative freedom. Playing with the obvious I wanted to make sure every concept I generated had someone or something with a book. My final concept depicts a classic scene of a young kid under the covers, with a flashlight, enjoying their book. It was tough figuring out how to show that this was during the summertime, but I felt the fireflies in the window was an effective touch.
